LOGISTICAL STUFF:

*** Located by the South/Pagoda side of the park, not north by the Field House.
*** Biking, Public Transpo & Walking highly encouraged!
*** No ATM on site- while some vendors accept credit, having cash on hand would be a good idea if you plan to support arts, food & face painters or rent a kayak.
*** Picnics, blankets & pets welcome

The day will also showcase Live Visual Artists and a Vendors Market collaboration with our entire artist community, open kayaking, bouncy houses/playground space, a DJ stage, and open grass for lounging– all along the Chicago river and in view of the downtown skyline. After years serving our community with massive + colorful club nights plus kids parties, we thought it time to celebrate with a day fest, and just in time for our 5 year Anniversary. Many thanks to Chicago Parks for supporting.

Totally free entry and open to the public. Please invite all your friends!

About CHULITA VINYL CLUB:
Chulita Vinyl Club is a 13-member all-womyn DJ crew that’s creating new spaces and empowering women of color to express themselves and their cultural heritage by spinning old records in various cities throughout the south & southwestern US. The movement named itself chulita, a Spanish-language term of endearment for meaning “cute” or “adorable,” to reclaim a word that’s sometimes used dismissively. They use it with pride, confidence and poise.

About GIO CHAMBA
Gio Chamba is a duo from Houston Texas, fronted by Gio himself and his partner in Cumbia, the Conguero, Coffee Guzman. Together they deliver a movement of explosive, Electropical energy, channeled through a unique blend of multicultural influences spanning from Cumbia to Hip-Hop, Latin Boogaloo and Electronica. They are recent winners of the Houston Press music award “Best Dance Music Act” shortly after released a debut EP in 2015 titled “Chamba”. In 2015 alone they performed at Houston’s biggest music festival, Free Press Summer Fest, Untapped Festival & CMJ Music Conference (NYC), and shared stages with Los Lonely Boys and Denge Dengue Dengue (Perú).

Blending live and electronic dance performances all in one, they are the only Houston-based artists who bring an array of genres together to deliver original + digital Cumbia beats that will make even the most introverted listeners find a groove. Chamba’s music is a wave of diversity with an overall message of love, peace and acceptance.

About QUINTO IMPERIO:
Quinto Imperio, based in Back of the Yards (Chicago), is a cumbia-hybrid band whose lyrics and music reflect its member’s experiences as immigrants and a mix of indigenous, African, and Mexican cultures. QI has been active on and off-stage benefiting immigrant rights organizations and events such as El Pueblo Canta Concert and ANHELO Project’s Dream Gala in addition to being founding members of the Dreamers and Allies Run Scholarship for Undocumented Students. Their efforts have been recognized by receiving the “Undocumented Unafraid Unapologetic Award” by the Immigrant Youth Justice League.
