Raised and rooted in Corpus Christi, Texas, producer/DJ El Dusty translates the Southern Texas border experience into new barrio anthems where the MPC2000 sampler and chopped clips of Latin music history collide. Recently tabbed by Rolling Stone as one of “10 New Artists” to watch in 2015, El Dusty is considered a Cumbia Electronica pioneer who’s been feeding Cumbia into his sound processor and synthesizer since before the turn of the millennium and continues to this day with releases such as K Le Pasa & Trapanera (alongside 3ball MTY’s Erick Rincón).
What Lee Scratch Perry is to Reggae, El Dusty is to Cumbia: the Father of Dub. Composer, arranger and ringmaster, Oliveira reinterprets the principals of the Jamaican sound systems of the 1970s and mashes the grimey, electro bass sounds while always bringing together a panoply of MCs, DJs, musicians & singers as seen with the Master Blaster Soundsystem project, which involves electronic toys, live beats and a full band to push the live show envelope and serve as a bridge between DJ culture, live music performances and the cumbia underground.
A versatile DJ with studies in audio production both in high school and college as well as radio experience, RomaSoul aka Maja Bijedic swears that music chose her. Rhythm is something which comes naturally and building up energy within her set is her specialty. A native to Sarajevo, Bosnia who currently resides in Chicago, she is a profound lover and student of music and many of it’s forms and genres. From live music to dj sets, and everything in-between RomaSoul has had the immense honor of working with some of Chicago’s greatest and most cutting edge artists. Her parties and residencies have spanned the city and she is currently 1/3 of the underground collective Dirty Dish.

2DLQTZ (Quality + Zues)
2DLQTZ is the joint project of producer/DJs Deejay Quality (Chicago) + Zues (Fort Wayne). Ricky Gutierrez aka Deejay Quality was born in Chicago in the late 80’s. Growing up in Little Village, a southside neighborhood largely run down by gangs and violence, Ricky found an escape through music. He quickly became infatuated with the music culture, especially with Chicago being the “City of House”, and his passion for the scene over the years helped him develop authentic admiration for sound production & mixing. He’s since become known for bringing ‘Quality’ to everything he touches and as a producer to both Second City and Hit’Em Up Entertainment has worked with artists such as Hex Hectic and reggaeton artist Xilef, among numerous others. In the Chicago Hip-Hop scene Quality has been a part of dozens of producer battles held in venues such as Reggie’s, The Zocalo Urbano, The Batey Urbano & Juniors, and has a number of cumbia releases out with Bay Area-based Bersa Discos.
Born & raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Zues found a love for music early on. The youngest of 6, he was influenced by different types of music ranging from Hip Hop, Rnb, Metal, Latin Freestyle & Cumbia. He started DJing at 14 & by age 18 was DJing at his local latin radio station with a weekly & weekend show playing Reggaeton & other urban genres. At 20 he began producing beats for local artists. He has worked closely with Texas-based Chingo Bling & made a summer hit called “Cerveza”. Zues then started producing electronic-based music at 23 and in 2015 remixed the hit song by Jack U & Justin Beiber “Where Are U Now” with a cumbia twist & caught the ear of Diplo, who featured the track in his Snapchat & Burning Man sets with Major Lazer. Now teamed up with Chicago’s Deejay Quality as 2DLQTZ the two have been perfectly pushing musical boundaries by producing just about anything you can think of.
Born and raised in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood David Chavez (DJ Sound Culture) has always had a great affinity for world cultures and deep music. In the DJ booth Sound Culture is a cultural chemist of sorts, exploring the world’s sounds and finding the threads that tie us all together globally. From Bhangra to Balkan Beat, African Soukous to Latin House, he knows how to navigate your auditory senses. His live mixes are both dynamic and seamlessly cohesive and whether you’re a world music enthusiast or dance floor regular, he keeps things interesting.
